Cable 18 (Marvel)
Cable and the mutant messiah Hope get chased around by nutbar Bishop in much the same way they have been for the last 17 issues. More in need of change than a Pong addict in 1972.
Strange Tales 1 of 3 (Marvel)
Indy creators have fun with Marvel characters. Refreshingly irreverent and different as well as a great introduction to a bunch of people you would normally never see working anywhere near the mainstream Marvel universe.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer 28 (Dark Horse)
Love this book. Feels like a genuine continuation of the show so if you were a fan of that you should be picking this up. This issue feels like the calm before the fighty storm, but this being Buffy, there is plenty of great character development while we wait for the fists, feet and cool dagger thingies to start flying.
Deadpool 15 (Marvel)
Deadpool has a lengthy conversation with a dead fish and then hitches a ride to San Francisco to join the X-Men. Book of the week. I mean it.
Marvel Zombies Return 1 of 5
This book contains two of the most disturbing things I have ever seen and both of them involve Spider-man. I’ll leave it to you to determine if that sounds like a recommendation or not. Poor Spidey. Ew.
The Boys 34 (Dynamite)
Despite the titular characters taking half the issue to kick the stuffing out of a Nazi version of Superman the real intrigue here lies in the words, “I suppose we could always tell him who we are”. A satisfying and violent end to the most recent story arc.
